Cheongdam Wine Bars: Four Seoul Rooms Worth Booking
Cheongdam keeps its wine bars close together. The four below are all within a walk of one another in the blocks around Cheongdam and Dosan-daero, which means the question is not really which one is best. It is which one matches the evening you have in mind: a cellar to work through, a quiet table for two, a 55-page list to read properly, or a glass by a window.
Two habits of the neighborhood are worth knowing before you go. Several of these rooms are deliberately hard to find, with no sign at street level and an entrance you would walk past. And the food is often support rather than dinner, so check what each kitchen actually does before you plan the night around it. The notes under each pick say what the room is for and what to confirm first.
1. Casa del Vino
Casa del Vino is Cheongdam's longest-running wine bar (open since October 2002), a wine-list-first destination with a huge cellar, a square/rectangular marble bar, gastropub food, and a clientele of serious oenophiles and high-class business people. It holds a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, with a stated 800-selection list, 3,500-bottle inventory, France/Italy strengths, and a Mediterranean/Italian dinner-only kitchen.
43 Seolleung-ro 162-gil, Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea | $$$$ | bar
The oldest wine bar in the neighborhood, open since October 2002, and still the straightforward answer when the bottle is the point of the evening. The list runs to a stated 800 selections drawn from a 3,500-bottle cellar weighted toward France and Italy, and it carries a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence. Around the marble bar you get serious wine people and business tables; the Mediterranean and Italian kitchen runs at dinner only, in support of the glass in front of you.
- Cheongdam's longest-running wine bar, open since October 2002.
- Holds a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, on a stated 800-selection list and a 3,500-bottle inventory strong in France and Italy.
- Service is the most consistently praised non-wine element: professional, well-educated sommeliers and careful bottle handling.
Reviewers repeatedly call it expensive, and the by-the-glass choice is small, so casual exploring is a costly way in. Dinner only, 18:00 to 02:00, and parking is very limited. Reservations run through Catchtable, and Friday 9/25 was confirmed closed for the Chuseok holiday.

2. White Wine Garage
White Wine Garage (화이트와인개러지) is an unmarked, basement-level wine bar/kitchen in Cheongdam, part of the wave of chef-and-sommelier-run wine bars (alongside places like Opening, Dexter, SAB) that emerged as an alternative to formal fine dining in the neighborhood . It combines a serious, white-wine-leaning list with a compact, well-plated food menu and communal-table seating, and has been operating under this concept since at least 2021 .
South Korea, Seoul, Gangnam District, 청담동 Samseong-ro 149-gil, 7 지하1층
No sign, a basement stair, and the pick that comes up more often than any other in our notes when the question is where to take a date in Cheongdam. It belongs to the wave of chef-and-sommelier-run rooms that opened here as an alternative to formal fine dining, and it has run on this concept since at least 2021: a serious, white-wine-leaning list, a compact and well-plated food menu, and communal-table seating in a room guests describe as calm rather than loud. Order the miso-sauce pork jowl and let the staff match the pour.
- Named outright as a date-night wine bar in two independent posts, the single most consistent recommendation across our notes.
- Visitors describe the lighting and atmosphere as calm and moody rather than loud, and suited to conversation.
- The miso-sauce grilled pork jowl is a repeat-order favorite, called a must-order alongside white wine.
- The owner and staff give detailed, dish-matched wine recommendations and manage serving temperature carefully.
Current status is unverified: our records list it as open as of 2026-09-08, but live verification did not complete this session, so confirm on a booking platform before visiting. Booking requires a deposit of 30,000 won per person, and corkage is capped at one outside bottle per table. The entrance is an unmarked basement door, and plenty of first-time visitors report trouble finding it.

3. Les Copains
Les Copains ("레꼬빵") is a sommelier-owned wine bar in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, built around a large classic-wine list and Cora Vin glass-pour preservation rather than a chef-driven kitchen . The space previously housed a pasta restaurant called Pasto before converting to a wine bar after COVID-19 .
24 Dosan-daero 70-gil, Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea | $$$$ | western
The room for reading a wine list properly. It is sommelier-owned, roughly 1,400 bottles across 55 pages, with Coravin keeping the by-the-glass pours intact, and it holds a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. The space was a pasta restaurant called Pasto before it converted to a wine bar after COVID-19, and the kitchen stayed light on purpose: this is a place to explore bottles rather than to eat dinner. The owner-sommeliers work the floor themselves.
- Sommelier-owned, built around a large classic-wine list with Coravin preservation for glass pours.
- Serious wine exploration is the core use case, backed by a roughly 1,400-bottle, 55-page list and a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
- Reviewers describe the owner-sommeliers as hands-on and attentive, with guests treated like royalty.
The food is wine-pairing snacks, sandwiches, salads and charcuterie, so eat first if you want a meal. Expect spending on the order of 60,000 to 70,000 won per person. It moved to a basement space in 2025, so older address listings may not match. Closed on Sundays.

4. Bambino
Bambino (밤비노) is a small, sommelier-run wine bar on the 5th floor of an unmarked Cheongdam building, built around a floor-to-ceiling city-view window and a Coravin-poured glass list that rotates monthly .
20-3 Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea | bar
Fifth floor, no sign on the building, and a floor-to-ceiling window that makes the Cheongdam skyline the decoration. The glass list is poured through Coravin and rotated monthly by the resident sommelier, which makes this the one room here where you can taste widely without committing to a bottle. With about ten seats at the bar it reads as a place for one or two people, and guests say the sommelier will keep a solo drinker company.
- A small, sommelier-run wine bar on the 5th floor of an unmarked Cheongdam building, built around a floor-to-ceiling city-view window.
- More than ten pours served through Coravin, curated and rotated monthly by the resident sommelier, spanning Burgundy, Chianti Classico, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Rioja.
- Multiple guests describe it as good for drinking alone, with the sommelier engaging solo visitors in conversation.
Food is snack level, ham, cheese and olives, so it does not work as a dinner stop. There are only about 10 bar seats, so a party of four or more effectively needs the whole room. There is no sign, so a first visit is hard to find, and reported operating hours differ between sources; check on the day. How hard a live reservation is was not checked this session.

One line each, if that is all you need: Casa del Vino for serious bottles and a classic room, White Wine Garage for a quiet date, Les Copains for deep list exploration, Bambino for a glass and the view. Since all four sit within a walk of each other, a second stop is realistic when the first room turns out to be full.
One timing note: hours can move around the Chuseok holiday, September 24 to 26, so confirm before you head over.
