Seongsu Group Dinners: Where to Book for 6 to 80 People

Seongsu is an easy neighborhood to eat well in and a hard one to book for a group. Much of what draws people here is small by design: narrow rooms, counter seats, a handful of tables turned quickly. Once your party clears six or eight, the question stops being what you feel like eating and becomes which rooms will hold you, and who answers when you try to reserve one.

The four below come out of our research notes on Seongsu, ordered by the size of party each one can take. They cover the realistic range: a private room for 6 to 14, banquet rooms seating about 40, a casual 70-seat grill hall, and a rooftop buyout for about 80. Settle your headcount first, because in this neighborhood the number decides the shortlist, and the food and the format follow from it.

Seongsu ilmirack is a salt-koji (소금누룩) fermented-pork specialty restaurant occupying a renovated printing-factory building near Ttukseom station, positioned as a premium, tableside-grilled Korean BBQ spot for groups, dates, and day-drinking rather than a fast turnover grill house .

22-20 Sangwon 6na-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea | $$ | korean, korean_barbecue

A salt-koji pork specialist in a converted printing factory near Ttukseom station, and the most natural fit here for a mid-size team dinner. The glass-walled rooms are built for parties of roughly 6 to 14, the grilling is handled tableside rather than left to you, and reviewer after reviewer has run a company dinner in them. It earns its place on corroborated evidence about those rooms rather than on a completed live check, so treat the room as likely and confirm it.

  • Glass-walled private rooms seating roughly 6 to 14 guests, suited to group meals and reservations.
  • The rooms are purpose-built for 6 to 14 person parties, and multiple reviewers used it for a large group or company dinner of up to about 14, with a reservation.
  • Reservations are repeatedly described as necessary rather than optional, especially for the rooms and for weekday dinner; one visitor found the hall fully booked out with company parties by 6pm.

Current status is unverified: our live check this turn could not complete verification for this venue, though records show it open with CatchTable booking and Naver Place hours fetched 2026-09-16. Confirm by phone or CatchTable before committing. No on-site parking; groups driving must use nearby paid lots. Signature cuts can sell out even with a reservation, so order flagship dishes first. A recent (Aug 2026) review reported inconsistent tableside service and overcooked meat met with an excuse rather than a fix. Mid-to-upper price tier, roughly ₩20,000 to 70,000 per person.

서우 (Seowoo, full trade name 서우 룸 다이닝 서울성수점 / "SEOWOO" Room Dining Seoul Seongsu) is a hotel-caliber private-room Chinese restaurant in the basement of the Hanwha Galleria Foret building by Seoul Forest, built around banquet-style rooms (2 to 40 seats) rather than a walk-in casual dining room . Its stated positioning is family/business banquet dining ("Private Dining for the Finest Family / Fellow / Friends"), and reviewers consistently frame it as the go-to venue in the area for sangyeonrye (상견례, formal meeting of two families before marriage), first-birthday (돌잔치) and 60th/70th birthday banquets, and company dinners rather than a casual noodle shop .

The banquet answer in Seongsu: a hotel-caliber private-room Chinese restaurant in the basement of the Galleria Foret building by Seoul Forest, built as a set of rooms rather than a dining hall. It holds the largest verified private-room capacity in the neighborhood, with rooms running to about 40, and it is purpose-fit for company dinners and milestone banquets, soundproofing included. It is also the easiest of these four to actually book: our live check found normal difficulty.

  • One of the few restaurants in Seongsu with rooms prepared for 30 or more people, with rooms up to 40 and group bookings from 10 people for the largest rooms.
  • Weekend lunch fills to capacity, so a reservation through Naver is essential.

One 2025 post caps room capacity at 30 rather than 40, so very large groups should confirm the current maximum when booking. Basement location with no windows or view. Per its Naver listing fetched today, it is closed 9/24 and 9/25 for the Chuseok holiday.

A Seongsu-dong self-grill pork belly ("solttukkeong," lid-grill) restaurant known for sulfur-fed pork (유황돼지) and house-made tofu, run by a chef ("고석현," alias 4.8.100) who appeared on Netflix's *Culinary Class Wars*, which brought a wave of new foot traffic after the show aired .

The informal pick, with the biggest casual capacity of the four at about 70 seats and the lowest cost per person. It is a lid-grill pork belly house known for sulfur-fed pork and house-made tofu, run by a chef who turned up on Netflix's Culinary Class Wars. The real advantage for a group is the clock: parties of 10 or more can arrange a closing time around 2am, which is rare in this neighborhood. You cook your own meat, so it is the right call only when nobody minds handling the tongs.

  • Capacity up to roughly 70, with wide, comfortable tables suited to family gatherings, dates, and group meetups.
  • Groups of 10 or more can request an extended closing time of roughly 2am by prior arrangement.

Self-grill format requires guests to cook their own meat, which may not suit formal company outings expecting full service. No private rooms are mentioned in any source. Post-Netflix crowding reports include unprepped tables and long weekend waits. Current operating status was not verified in this session and our notes date to late 2025; call ahead to confirm before committing.

성수옥상 (Seongsu Oksang) is a 4th-floor rooftop wine bar in Seongsu built around an open-air terrace, a wine-forward small-plates menu, and heavy positioning for dates, birthdays, and company gatherings .

South Korea, Seoul, Seongdong-gu, Yeonmujang 17-gil, 5 4층 | $$ | bar

The only confirmed option here for a very large party: a fourth-floor rooftop wine bar that four separate reviews describe renting out in full, to roughly 80 people. It takes the entire floor, an indoor lounge plus an open terrace, so a big group can spread out instead of being wedged into one room. The wine-forward, small-plates format suits a celebration or a loose company gathering rather than a formal seated dinner.

  • Large group buyout up to roughly 80 people with advance arrangement, repeated across four independent reviews describing full-venue rental capacity.
  • The venue occupies the whole 4th floor, split between an indoor lounge and an open rooftop terrace, both usable together.
  • For larger seated groups there is a long central shared table and projector-driven ambient visuals.
  • Booking channels include CatchTable, Naver Reservation, phone, Naver Talktalk, and Instagram DM for group inquiries.

No elevator; 4th floor is stairs only, which excludes guests with mobility limitations. Bottle-wine minimum applies during prime hours (weekday 18:00-21:00, weekend and holiday 17:00-21:00). Food portions are built for wine-and-shareables pacing rather than a filling dinner. All reviews on record are promotional-style Naver blog posts with no critical voice.

Two things decide a Seongsu group booking: the final headcount and the channel the restaurant actually answers on. Fix the number before you call, then book through whichever channel the card names, CatchTable, Naver, phone, or a direct message, and confirm the room itself rather than assuming it comes with the reservation.

Where our notes are older or a live check did not complete, the card says so plainly, and those are the two you should call rather than book blind. Holiday closures are worth a check as well: Seou Room's listing showed it closed on 9/24 and 9/25 for Chuseok.
